mckenzie cloud

McKenzie Cloud will be serving as a Journeyman in northwest Brazil for two years, working with missionaries to reach unreached people groups in the Amazon through church planting, Bible storytelling, and discipleship.

At 15 years old, McKenzie told the Lord, "My life is yours, use me." Since she first came to Beech Haven in November 2020, she has served Him in so many ways here— from working  with preschoolers and kids to discipling and mentoring younger girls. Now the Lord has called her to serve Him in the Amazon with the International Mission Board as a journeyman, which is a two year term for young adultsShe left for Field Personnel Orientation on August 8th and will be back to Athens on September 26th until she leaves for Brazil in mid- to late October. She will be sharing Bible stories to kids, youth, and families, as well as leading Bible studies for young girls. Her mission is to reach people groups who have never heard the gospel, also known as unreached people groups.

Prayer is one of the most powerful ways the church body can support McKenzie. Take time to pray over these requests:
  • Pray for her FPO training and that logistics run smoothly, her team is unified, and for strength every day so that they can be better prepared for the field
  • Pray for the hearts of the people she will encounter and for quick language learning and cultural understanding
  • Pray for spiritual endurance, physical safety, peace in the midst of homesickness, and strength every day

"I would not be able to do this journey without you, Beech Haven. You are with me every step of the way. I will be representing you when I am on the field. Thank you for being my supporting and sending church. I can’t thank each of you enough for pouring into me these past six years, and helping me grow closer to the Lord. I know that I will still have that same support even when I am thousands of miles away. I covet all prayers and will continue to pray for you, as well. The Lord has called us all to serve Him, and you supporting me is a way you are serving the Lord. Luke 10:2 has been a verse that has reminded me of what the Lord has called me to do. It says, He told them, 'The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.' Thank you for sending me out Beech Haven, you are a blessing to me!"
